6. Providing order and consistency

7. Leading by example.

Smart parents from generation to generation will at some point  realize that contradiction is the fundamental truth of parenting, it is the foundation itself,we want our children to be independent but still be part of us, we want them to have self esteem and not be full of  pride, to hold healthy friendships and at the same time to be able to thrive in solitude if required. We want them to be respectful but still have a voice of their own, to trust but apply sense and question if need be. Parenting in essence means helping our children to strike a balance between these two opposites, and whatever method works for one might not work for the other, the reason for different parenting styles.
